My “Innerview” with Nashid Furaha-Ali of WURDradio.com - The Arc(K) segment - Philadelphia

Sun Eve, May 3, 2026, 6 p.m, I had a great virtual / audio opportunity to meet with Nashid and discussed and Ancestral practices.

Nashid has a weekly radio program, that you should listen too! He starts out with playing his harmonica and sharing stories! For the month of May, he is focusing on honoring our ancestors and remembrance. ‘May Flowers: Village Spirituality: The Art of Remembrance Story “The Wise Man and The Village Procession” ‘

Nashid has an art of using words and rebranding them in a forward way. For an example. He does not “Interview” he “Innerviews”. He gets to the heart of topics, how you feel inside, and discuss your experiences. Another example.. I am a Spiritual Advisor, and am one of God’s “Interpreters”. As a result, Nashid gave me a new title the “Spiritual Interpreter“. I’m planning to integrate that change! LOVE IT!

During the interview, Nashid gave examples of some of the challenges we are facing. In particular, gun violence, and how we need to find ways to come together as a community. In remembrance, we had block parties, gatherings, and various things we did as a community. We may need to consider having some of those things come back. As part of a Collective Conscious or community, is essential to help all of us! Then, we’ve discussed communication ways with the invisible (deceased) realm with ancestral shrines. I gave an example of what a shrine could look like and its purpose.

Many of us have on our home wall-displays, honoring the living and deceased via photographs. And memories held in photo albums, or tables, mantles, places set remembering departed loved ones. This exercise stems from an African honoring practice called Egun or Eggun; honoring the dead in a physical space of remembrance / acknowledgment; an Egun shrine. Discussed we cannot live out the invisible, and the invisible cannot live without us. This coexistence or collaborative relationship is essential to breathing or Air element. We should intentionally seek ways to work together.

The radio segment was supposed to be for a one hour. As it may, the next hour segment didn’t show. The Ancestors had a plan, and segment extended to a two hour discussion! There were questions, but didn’t get a chance to respond. We also discussed me coming back again! Yeah!!

Everything went well and the segment can be watch again or listen from WURD radio’s site.
