As part of the Spring Solstice, my first sponsored “Paint and Sip Event” was held. The event was a collaborated effort with the an artist, “Sakana-The_Artist”. Mr Sakana Walls, who is the founder and owner of “Sakana_The_Artist” in Delaware. He has sponsored such events in an innovative way. This intimate gathering, was held at my goddaughter, Darasia, historic Philadelphia home. There were about 20 participants from various communities and states, including Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Sakana_The_Artist orchestrated the event, and assigned each participant a pre-work task that involved sharing a photo and inspirational quote. Sakana then created personalized sketches for each participant. Upon arrival, he greeted each guest, distributed their customized canvases, and the creative process began!
We had music from the 80s/90s, sang along, and went right to work! We also had the BEST food catered by my godson, Orilan “O” Codrington who made two flavored filled Caribbean style chickens, cabbage, and rice. The participants brought various types of drinks and we sipped/drank/ate/painted!
